Campbell Technical, Inc. repairs DLT8000 tape drives using a 10-Point Standard Repair Procedure. All DLT8000 tape drives are tested for head guide assembly noise and tachometer wheel alignment. If head guide assembly is found to be faulty, they are replaced at no additional charge. All DLT8000 tape drive repairs included replacement of the plastic leader also at no additional charge.
10-Point DLT8000 Tape Drive Repair Procedure
- DLT8000 Tape Drive is received and cosmetically checked for defaults.
- DLT8000 Tape Drive is fully disassembled.
- Read/Write Head is bit error rate tested for wear and reliability.
- PCB Module is tested for functionality and reliablity.
- Head Guide Assembly is tested for bearing noise and bearing alignment.
- Motors are tested for spinup both forward and reversed
- Takeup Leader is ALWAYS REPLACED
- Parts are replaced if necessary with spare parts on hand and tape drive is assembled.
- Tape Drive is fully tested to meet OEM specifications and a burn in test is performed.
- Tape Drive is cosmetically cleaned, anti-static bagged, and properly packed.
